Harrolds, the most luxurious department store in Australia, is renowned for its impeccable tailoring and unparalleled curation of international labels including Tom Ford, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. If you’re after the finest Italian tailoring at a surprisingly appealing price point, then you’re in luck – Harrolds have re-launched their own luxury brand, Harrolds Private Label.

I had high expectations for my Harrolds experience and was not disappointed. During my visit to their Pacific Fair store, I was greeted with professional service and a cheeky bottle of champagne. Menswear store manager, Alex, walked me through the Harrolds Private Label, from their current range of half canvassed ready-to-wear suits to their classic made-to-measure offering. If opting for the latter, you have the choice of a wide range of fabrics and finishings that are handmade in Italy and crafted from the finest wools.

The exclusive Harrolds Private Label comes in two silhouettes, the Parigi and Milano. The Parigi offers a slim fit and modern silhouette for the more fashion forward gentleman, whereas the Milano is more refined with a conservative and classic style. If you’re unsure which silhouette to choose, the team at Harrolds will help you through the process and pick a style that compliments your body type.

After seeing the entire range, I opted for a grey Prince of Wales check with light blue accents in the Parigi cut. The suit was then pinned to create the right tailored fit for my body type (wide shoulders with a fitted waist), whilst I sipped on a glass of champagne – hard job, but somebody’s gotta do it. Alex’s tailoring was perfection with a particular eye for detail. Within a week, I came in to Harrolds for the final fitting with Alex where the suit then fitted like a glove. Once you put on this kind of suit, you instantly feel the quality of the fabric and there’s no doubt that you are wearing a high quality tailored suit.

A suited look is never finished without a few accessories to match. I found the perfect Magnanni tassel blue loafers to complement the touch of blue throughout the suit. The shoes exude luxury and makes the the overall look a little more chic. From the Harrolds Private Label range I chose a paisley pocket square and a blue and red geometric tie. The products are high in quality and the look is perfect for spring.

If you’re after a new quality suit at a pleasing price point, I would highly recommend enjoying the luxury experience at Harrolds and trying on the Harrolds Private Label.
