Originating from France, Hermès is one of the world’s finest luxury brands with their enviable designs worn by only the most fashionable. Hermès boutiques echo their quest for perfection and offer an elite shopping experience like no other. We were invited to attend the launch of the maison’s latest boutique in Melbourne at Chadstone – The Fashion Capital. Not only were we invited to attend the highly anticipated opening, but we were also the first to explore the new boutique.
When we arrived at Hermès Chadstone, we were instantly enamoured with the store’s facade which featured a striking copper frame and terracotta lacquered finishes. The beautifully framed windows were initially concealed with blinds creating a sense of suspense. As our anticipation peaked, the blinds were lifted to reveal ‘Pegasus’, a stunning installation by Australian artist Anna-Wili Highfield.
There was already a line of people eagerly waiting to enter the store and secure their coveted Hermès pieces. Luckily, we were able to bypass the queue with fellow lifestyle influencer Lichi Pan (@lichipan) and be the first to enter the new Hermès boutique.
Hermès, quest for perfection, passion for the future and respect for the past have been inextricable.
Stepping into the debuted space, we admired the Faubourg type mosaic flooring which featured beautifully blended tones of blue, caramel and white. Also greeting us at the entrance was the Hermès ex-libris stamp in brushed stainless steel. Inside, a master leather craftsman showcased her skills and demonstrated the intricacies of creating a Hermès bag.
The expansive boutique included a dedicated space for women’s ready-to-wear collections, silks and perfumes. Another section presented the leather, equestrian and homeware collections whilst the centre of the store featured an intimate zone for jewellery and watches. This thoughtful layout made for a seamless and inspired shopping experience.
We appreciated the vast range of Hermès goods available at the boutique including ready-to-wear seasonal clothing collections, bags and leather goods, as well as formal and casual shoes. Our favourite area of the store though, of course, was the men’s section. After perusing (or rather, drooling over) the signature Hermès belts and buckles cabinet, we explored the luxuriously spacious private dressing room which invites you to spend hours trying on your considered Hermès looks.
It was a great privilege being the first to discover Hermès Chadstone and personally encounter the craftsmanship and quest for perfection Hermès are known for. We recommend making a visit to the store with haste to see why the newest Hermès boutique more than meets the hype.
