A big, beaming smile is the ultimate symbol of confidence. We’ve been wanting to improve our smile for a while but assumed our busy travel schedule would make it impossible to receive orthodontic treatment. However, after a complimentary consultation with Allstar Orthodontics we realised our goals were well within reach.
Allstar Orthodontics specialise in Invisalign solutions, offering treatment at their three practices in Brisbane. We were intrigued to understand how we could straighten our teeth whilst travelling so headed into their Fortitude Valley Emporium location to learn more.
As we arrived, the friendly receptionist introduced us to Dr. Mike Anderson – an Australian Orthodontic Board certified orthodontist and a member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Anderson examined our teeth and suggested we would be ideal candidates for Invisalign treatment. The treatment involves wearing clear, plastic aligners that are almost invisible to the eye. Each aligner is moulded slightly differently so that your teeth gradually move into the desired position. We were told the Invisalign process would only take around 10 months to a year, but we had concerns about travelling overseas during this time.
Dr. Anderson put our fears to rest as he explained all of our aligners could be made in advance and taken on our trips abroad. Although we couldn’t attend check-ups in person, the Allstar Orthodontics team would continue to track our progress with the help of the Dental Monitoring app. Allstar Orthodontics are one of the first providers in Brisbane to adopt this ingenious technology which offers the ideal solution for frequent travellers and those with busy lifestyles. Users simply upload a selfie via the app which is sent to the team for assessment. If their smile is on track as per the treatment plan they proceed to the next set of aligners. Dr. Anderson can also provide additional notes such as concerns about gum health.
We had all of our aligners created and are now soon on our way to a straighter smile. Already we’ve found the app to be super handy and we no longer have to worry about fitting orthodontist appointments into our unpredictable schedule. Although we haven’t met with Dr. Anderson again yet in person, he has provided specific feedback to us via the app which shows the team really takes the time to carefully assess the progress of each individual case. A few friends have also been surprised to hear we’ve started Invisalign treatment as the aligners are really are hard to spot.
A straighter smile always seemed years away unless we interrupted our travel plans. Thankfully we met Dr. Anderson and the Allstar Orthodontics team who showed us the perfect solution for treatment on the go. Stay tuned for our before and after shots later in the year!
